INTRODUCING THE NEW QUEEN

Samantha Greene, of Carrollton, OH, has been chosen as the 2003 ORMGA Queen.  She is the daughter of Roger and Kathy Greene, and is a sophomore at Carrollton High School.

In addition to her own Murray Grey heifer, which she has shown at her fair, she has participated in the Ohio State Fair for two years, assisting Tina and Adam Costarella of Adina Farms.  Very active as a new officer in FFA, "Sam" has also been a contestant in both local and state judging contests for the past two years, judging dairy, general livestock, and meats.

She plans to show both her heifer and the family's MG bull at her upcoming county fair this year.

While showing cattle Samantha has tried to introduce visitors to the arena to the MG breed.  One of her goals as queen is to make the breed better known throughout her community and the entire state and region.  She hopes her efforts will improve the population of the breed, and will promote the beef industry as well.
